As many of you know, I am an Instagram fiend. Between my two accounts (personal@leahmilena & blog@alamilena) I am constantly snapping pics and capturing the beauty around me to share with others. As bad as it may be, my Instagram followers see a lot more of me than my blog and I've had requests from people who aren't on Insta saying that they would like to see these 4X4 glimpses into my life as well. Naturally, I am more than happy to share them! Every few weeks I'll do a round up of my favorite shots from various networks (and exclusive content which wasn't posted) and bring them to you here in one, easy place! Sound good? Cool. In the meantime, if you are on Insta, make sure that you're following my account @alamilena to stay updated!

A few weeks ago I had a thought. Okay, okay, I have thoughts all the time but this one was special. I was longing for a vacation and I got to thinking about what makes trips so great. Besides the relaxing, it's the exploring that gets me excited. Waking up in the morning having a whole day in front of you with nothing to do but explore a new place: find a cool spot to eat, shop around, and just see where the day takes you. Then it hit me, why don't I do this in my own city? Why wait until I'm on vacation? I've lived in the Phoenix area my entire life yet there are still hundreds of places I haven't been and things I haven't done. In my own hometown!! Upon this realization I decided that this is entirely not okay with me, so I vowed to start exploring my city more. This journey began at PHX Public Market in Downtown Phoenix, in the search for a gold, glittered macaron that I'd seen on Aubrey of The Kinch Life Blog's instagram feed. (Follow her here, she's an AZ girl too! I love getting inspiration from other local bloggers.) Well, I found way more than just the tasty macarons I was in search of. I spent my afternoon at PHX Public Market enjoying a leisurely brunch with my lovely mother and snapped a few pics along the way to share with all of you! This place is definitely one of my new favorites. The food was great along, atmosphere and patio were flawless, and I can't wait to go back another day and check out one of their open air farmer's markets.
I got the Rooster Booster, a typical breakfast spread which was deeeelish! Accompanied, of course, by an iced coffee and assortment of macarons.
We also tried the handmade house pretzels and jalapeno white cheddar sauce, which was anything but your typical. Definitely recommend!

Back at home I tried to get a few more shots of the macaron which just so happened to match my nail color identically... this didn't last long as my pesky pup soon wanted in on the macaron action.
Can you blame her?! Look at those little paws!
Hi, everyone!! Today I'm highlighting one of the trends covered in the Spring '14 Trend Report, sporty chic. The keyword here is chic because obviously these looks are far from sportswear, but they incorporate edgy, athletic-inspired pieces. In the first look, I'm wearing a chiffon baseball jersey from H&M. Nothing says spring more than some baseball, right? In the second look I decided to throw on my infamous leather joggers. Joggers have been making a major statement lately and I'm really excited to see them transition into springtime. (I have a floral chiffon pair but I'm still searching for the perfect blouse to pair it with...) These looks definitely won't be everyone's cup of tea but I had fun wearing them so in my book they're winners.
