Couldn't let July slip by without posting my latest lust list! This month's list features a TIBI midi set, a Cartier love bracelet, a Phillip Lim 3.1 purse, Fendi sunglasses, and Zara slides. Blush pink, gold, and black will forever be the perfect combination in my eyes, and as you'll see soon, they're also the colors that I used to brand my new blog, MILENA, which'll be launching soon.
Okay, that's a lie. Without the internet, how would I make irresponsible online purchases in the wee hours of the morning or binge watch Orange is the New Black? The internet is vital to any blogger babe, but I just love this sassy little tee courtesy of The Bloguettes. The shirt was given to me when I attended one of their mini workshops (read about it HERE) and I was so excited to finally wear it out. I paired it with my new Gucci aviators, layered statement necklaces, my favorite summer purse, boyfriend jeans, and a strappy, chunky heel. As if the ensemble doesn't scream BLOGGER enough, the #bloguettes printed on the back of the shirt is sure to let people know that I'm an internet hit.
Or at least I think I am. ;)

Today's post is just for kicks and gigs. Just a little peek at what my days off have been like as of late. Ya know, living out my mermaid/shamu trainer fantasies and whatnot. Oh, and tell me my boy Moises doesn't look like he's straight out of a Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue ad. Happy, happy summer days.
I began working at Buffalo Exchange about three months ago, but have been a loyal shopper there ever since I could fit in their clothes. I'm the kind of girl that enjoys the thrill of the hunt when it comes to shopping, and I'm all about getting a bargain. ALL ABOUT IT. 'Cause lets be real, a college girl's gotta stretch her clothing budget as far as it can go. But don't let all this bargain talk fool you, I still want the best of the best and I'm determined to find it, for 50% off or more.
One of my favorite parts about being a Buyer at Buffalo Exchange is that you come into work each day never knowing what's going to come across that buy counter and into your store. Just when you're getting over the work day, a pair of Prada sneakers or some unreleased special edition Kate Spade will come across the counter and perk you right back up. It's a constant treasure hunt.
Well, today was a good day at work for me. Yes, I had to get up at 7:30 and commute across town on my Saturday morning but the treasures that awaited me made it well worth it. Here are my finds!
1. Gucci Aviators | Retail Value: $295 (still in stores) | Buffalo Price: $70
I've been looking for a pair of sleek, gold designer aviators forever so you can imagine my excitement when these beauties waltzed into the store. Within seconds I had dibs on them and they went straight into my holds and out the door with me at the end of the day. Oh, and for 77% off I can't even feel guilty about splurging. If you can even call it that.
2. Del Toro Silver & Pink Pony Hair Slippers | Retail Value: $375 | Buffalo Price: $35
These babies were another gift from the fashion Gods that showed up on the buy counter this morning. I was instantly drawn to the pink pony hair with unexpected splotches of silver, because it's so me and so fun. (Reminds me of the aesthetic that my new website <<a la MILENA>> will have.) Upon further examination, I was blown away by the quality of the 'vero cuoio' all leather Italian made shoe. Instantly, I looked up the brand and new it was something I was behind 100%. Plus, 91% off. HOLLA.
Welcome to my closet you little furry things, you.
3. Insight Denim Vest w/ Back Patch | Estimated Retail Value: $76 | Buffalo Price: $18.50
In the same exact buy that the Del Toro's came in, so did this killer Insight vest. I've owned a few denim vests in the past but never got much use out of them. However, the detail on this one is amazing and matched the Del Toro's to a key. A.K.A. had to buy. Couldn't find this vest anywhere online but similar ones cost about $76, so it's safe to say I saved approximately 76%. What a steal.
4. RACHEL Rachel Roy Snakeskin Shorts | Estimated Retail Value: $79 | Buffalo Price: $17.50
Lastly, I snagged these RACHEL by Rachel Roy snakeskin shorties for under 20 bucks. I've had a major soft spot for snakeskin in my wardrobe lately and am in desperate need of some fashionable, non booty-cheek-alicious shorts. These cover all of the bases. Saved about 78%.
Look for these new additions to my wardrobe in blog posts to come, and more posts like this one showcasing my bargain buys.
As I'm sure many of you know, the Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale started today. While I don't think I'll be able to indulge this year (I just signed a lease on my first place, YAY! But now I have to furnish the whole place. Not so much yay.) I decided to share some of my fav picks from the sale in case some of you are looking to score some goodies, specifically handbags. I chose to scour the sale for handbags because I think that a good purse can instantly transform an outfit. Plus, you can get a lot of use out of them. If I'm looking to splurge on something, it's likely to be a designer handbag. (The teal color blocked Phillip Lim below makes my heart skip a beat every time I look at it.)

We all get stuck in a rut sometimes, and this summer has sucked me into an odd sort of lull, especially when it comes to my blogging. Sure, it probably has something to do with the fact that I'm working a ton, taking summer classes, and just the plain energy-zapping 100 degree weather which makes it hard to be productive some days and makes going out and shooting a real sweaty mess. Also, I've been busy working on switching sites <<notice the a la Milena: Coming Soon banner>> which should be going live this August if everything goes as planned. All in all, however, I'm having a hard time dedicating as much time as I should to writing content and focusing on the blog and for that I apologize.
When I'm stuck in a rut like this, sometimes all it takes to snap me out of it is a little inspiration and that is exactly what I got at last night's Bloguette's Speed Dating Workshop. <<And no, it's not that kind of speed dating!>> The workshop was set up speed dating style, but I got one-on-one time to chat and network with successful local bloggers, photographers, social media gurus, and business strategists. It was wonderful being able to bounce my ideas off of these professionals, especially since I'm gearing up to launch the new site soon! I left the workshop very impressed and feeling super motivated to get to work--just what I needed! Check out the Bloguette's website if you're in need of some blogging help, they truly are the experts. Also be on the lookout for me in my sassy new Bloguette's tee, coming to a blog post near you.
After yesterday's workshop I decided I needed a way to keep track of my goals, short term & long term, because boy do I have a lot of them. I've tried writing them down in a notebook each month, but the notebook ultimately gets buried in a pile somewhere whilst the same thing happens mentally and I never get too far on them. Ooops. To solve this problem I decided to craft a cute little Pantone goal board to colorfully display my goals on my desk and serve as a constant motivator. I headed over to Lowe's which is one of the few hardware stores that carries Pantone, raided their 3x3 paint swatches, grabbed a 12x12 frame, and mounted them under glass. Boom. Easy as that. Now I can gaze at my goals whenever I want and have a friendly little reminder to get to work. I can't wait to see how fast I'll be crossing these guys off now. Wish me luck!
Today I'm bringing you MAJOR style inspo from Giambattista Valli's Fall 2014 Couture line which debuted in Paris a few days ago. The first thing that caught my attention was the black and white striped draped dress that Valli's model wore effortlessly with sunnies and a white head scarf. So classic. This intrigued me, and as I dug a little deeper I was blown away by how the harsh stripes gave way to more feminine, floral pieces. Everything in this collection is on point, but here are a few of my absolute favorite looks.
| 1. Making a habit out of this. | 2. I C U. | 3. Kate Spade sunnies and Marc Jacobs chain link, all in a day's work. Literally, I got these guys at work. | 4. A little sparkle never hurt no one. Especially not J Crew sparkle. | 5. My bible. | 6. Packing for my trip to Florida wouldn't be complete without my new ASOS bikini. | 7. #Classics. | 8. This is what every other meal looks like during the summertime. Sorry, not sorry. | 9. Baby's first Chanel. |
