It's truly crazy how time flies. I was scrolling through my blog archives today and something caught my attention... August marks the one year anniversary of the creation of Steeze Please! WOW. I started this blog exactly one year ago because I was sick of just daydreaming, waiting for my dreams to come true. I knew that I had to make them happen myself, and so I did. Too many people sit around waiting for the right moment to act. Many just expect things to come to them, but they fail to realize that while they are sitting around waiting, the opportunities are passing them right by. The launch of this site has provided me with opportunities that I never imagined possible a year ago. If it weren't for Steeze Please I would have never had the chance to blog for Teen Vogue, get backstage access to fashion shows and mingle with designers, or have landed my very first stylist gig with Shine Bright Senior Portraits. While Steeze Please and my adventures in the fashion world still have a long way to go, I am very proud of the strides that this blog as a whole has made in the past year and am excited for what the future holds. I would like to thank all of my dedicated readers, followers, and friends for your love and support- none of this would be possible without you! However, I'm not stopping here. I'm going to continue chasing after my dreams and I encourage you all to do the same. Stay steezy!
Snapped these photos my last night in Phoenix after I picked up the most fabulous army green wrap dress at my fav thrift shop, Buffalo Exchange. I really should cut myself off from buying anything else this color considering I have a closet full of it, but I couldn't help myself. While I have hoards of army jackets and camo which scream military, I love the feminine cut and silkiness to this little number. I usually wear my military pieces with boots and style them a little more on the grungier side, so I had a great time dressing this up! Military basics with feminine touches are always a do, and a chic one at that.
Just yesterday it seemed like I was a little girl swinging on the jungle gym in my backyard dressed as a princess and today I find myself packing up my beloved childhood room as I head off to college. WEIRD. Don't get me wrong, I'm beyond excited to be on my own, however, I just can't help but wonder where the years went. I'm attending Arizona State University as a Marketing major and will be the third Sun Devil in my family. As I begin this journey into what might possibly be the best 4 years of my life (or so I've heard) I am finding myself very hopeful. I know there's so many exciting things waiting for me just around the corner and I can't wait to take you all with me. College will definitely be changing the way I blog, but hopefully for the better. Anyways, here goes nothing!
Meet Kevin, Chapparal senior and hardcore fashionisto. The second I met Kevin, I knew he was a cool kid. I was sitting at a friend's party and all the sudden he walks in wearing some crazy cat shirt carrying a Taco 12 Pack.. I was like, "Okay, we're gonna be friends". A few days ago we had a little adventure in downtown Phoenix and I am thrilled to have Kevin as my very first featured guest on Steeze Please!
What stands out to me about Kevin's style is his ability to stay super sophisticated while mixing in fun colors and youthful patterns. It's the perfect mix of classy and playful. His go-to's include printed button-ups, dressy vests, chinos, and boots, as pictured below!
(Shirt- Topman, Vest- Topman, Pants- H&M, Boots- River Island, Tie- Topman)
(Wolf Shirt- RIPNDIP, Vest- H&M, Chinos- H&M, Boots- River Island)
I am beyond excited to announce my affiliation with Shine Bright Senior Portraits as the company's new stylist! I will be working alongside photography genius, Lizzie Kimball, who just recently started the company after the large successes of Lizzie Kimball Photography. Shine Bright is tailored to graduating seniors who are looking to capture a very important time in their lives. Lizzie and her team (including me, as well as makeup artists) provide a luxury experience and the total package to get each and every senior photo shoot ready. I had my own senior portraits done by Lizzie and let me tell you, her work is golden. If you missed them you can check them out on the blog HERE! Well, I found myself in San Diego once again this weekend, but this time with my new DSLR in tow... So forgive me as I put the fashion talk on hold for a minute and just share my kick ass weekend with you. Or, let this blog post serve as a What To Wear, Where To Go in San Diego. Either way, enjoy.
