Merry Christmas, everyone! You guys are the ones that I share my daily ramblings with, as well as my love of fashion, and I consider you all my dear friends. Every time you make it a point to come visit me here at Steeze Please you are helping to make my dreams a reality. That is the best Christmas gift a girl could ask for. I truly hope you all have a joyous holiday and celebrate it in style!

I'm always for supporting local businesses and these establishments can definitely come in handy for those last minute Christmas gift. Seriously, who has time for shipping? Not us procrastinators, that's for sure. While I'm going to highlight a few of my favorite local shops in the Phoenix Area, I encourage all of you to explore your town and check out what locally owned gems it has to offer! Shop locally and get your last minute shopping done, it's a win win.
Here are a few of my favs:
A new business to the valley, but this place is golden. You may have seen my previous blog post from the Lawless Opening, but if not I'll fill you in. Located in Cityscape in Downtown Phoenix, Lawless Denim & Co. is Arizona's only custom denim shop and is simply one of a kind. Buy your loved one a gift certificate and allow them to go into the shop and create their very own custom pair of high quality jeans. They'll get to pick everything from the fit, denim, thread, rivets, and even pocket liner. Everyone can appreciate a good pair of denim, and especially one tailored to their body! If a gift card to create your own doesn't sound right, then head into the store and pick up a pre-made pair of denim. I own both pre-made and custom Lawless denim and couldn't be happier with them.
My custom pair of selvedge Lawless Denim.
And here's my off-the-shelf pair of Lawless denim, equally as great.
Frances and Smeeks are two separate stores but with the same owners and indie vibe, they make a great duo. Frances is "a modern boutique with vintage charm" while Smeeks is a whimsical candy store known as "a sweet little shop for sweet little folks". They've made your holiday shopping a little easier for you with their very own personal gift guide that can be found here. Although if it were me, I'd pick up a pair of earrings and some cute retro candies for stocking stuffers.
Flora Apothecary features entirely natural and handmade bath and body products. I have a few of their products and my personal favorite is the hyacinth and lavender Deva Natural Body Scrub. Flora is a huge step up from your run of the mill Bath & Body Works and creates a much more personal and unique gift. They even have stuff for your man with their Gents products! You can find Flora at Frances, La Grande Orange, JAM, and the Union.
These are just a few of the unique, local businesses in Phoenix but check out Local First Arizona for many more.
Wherever you're headed to wrap up your search for the perfect gift, Happy Shopping and GOODLUCK!
'Tis the season for being overly spirited & over dressed, over celebrating & over indulging. When else is it acceptable to eat a whole roll of cookie dough in one sitting* or rock a tartan plaid meets tulle meets glitter ensemble? Practically never. But, lucky us, this is the time of year to get away with all of these otherwise faux pas. Wear that vintage over-the-top fur coat at the back of your closet. Heck, wear it with over the knee leather boots. Call in sick and have a movie marathon. Party a little too hard. Bake a cake for no reason. Bring the most inappropriate white elephant gift you can find. Wear that red lipstick and wear it proud. It's the holidays and anything goes. Take advantage of it. There'll be plenty of time to go about our boring lives and hit the gym in the New Year.
*I do not endorse this activity. I landed myself in the hospital with salmonella just a few days before Christmas last year after a sugar cookie dough binge. When your mother tells you not to eat raw eggs, I suggest you listen.
When would I be caught dead in a kitschy dog sweater? During the holidays, that's when. It's playful and his little bow matched my new flats perfectly. Plus, it was on sale. So why not? I wore this outfit out Christmas shopping at Scottsdale Quarter.

My first semester at ASU came to a close last Friday and I can't believe that Freshman year is already half over. Actually, I guess it's quite believable because time flies when you're having fun and I've sure had my fair share this semester. Don't get me wrong though, I've been hitting the books, too. In fact, I attribute my blogging absence lately to those pesky final exams. But, I finished the semester with all A's and B's so I guess my freshman struggles weren't all too bad. While these past 5 months at ASU have held many great memories, I'm thrilled to be home, catch up on my blogging, spend lots of time with my friends and family, and celebrate the holidays.
Came home from college with this scholarly ensemble.
(Coat- Pendleton, Blouse- Joe Fresh, Wool Shorts- Forever 21, Loafers- Merona)
My favorite part of this outfit is this Pendleton Wool Coat which I thrifted from Buffalo Exchange for only $20! It's one of my many treasured Buffalo finds and a new go-to in my winter wardrobe.
